On the Ground Tom Miyashiro
Founder & Executive Director Tom Miyashiro is an author, speaker and radio personality. He has a passion for making a difference in the lives of teenagers and has dedicated his life to this purpose. As a community activist and student mobilizer, Tom believes in transforming communities through investing in emerging generations. Tom is the founder of f2fmi and the Schools Work Coordinator for the Lifefaqs Foundation. He is married to Amy and between the USA and the UK (where Amy is from), finally settled in Waterford, Connecticut. Nathanael Bass
Media Director/Creator of Axiomwear Nathanael Bass was born and raised in Connecticut and is one of eight siblings. He attended Eastern Connecticut State University and graduated in 2007 with a B.A. in Digital Art & Design. Nathanael began working with f2fmi in the summer of 2006 when Tom and Amy moved back to Connecticut. Tom and Nathanael were the first two live DJs at WCSE and aired Tom’s UK imported radio program, Real Life Radio. Over the next year, Nathanael & Tom started Axiomwear to reach young people through Nathanael’s designs. Nathanael functions as the Media Director for f2fmi and is responsible for the aesthetics of the ministry. His vision is to create wearable artwork that inspire transformational conversations. Development Coordinator Julie Parido is originally from Michigan and has found her way to Southeastern Connecticut after attending Cedarville University in Ohio. She graduated in 2007 with a B.A. in Electronic Media. Julie is a perfect edition to our team helping to raise support for the work of evangelism by coordinating development projects. In 2009, Julie helped the team raise more than $20,000. She is married to Mike and the two live in Waterford, CT. Julie is the first woman to join the f2fmi team! John Fogg Jr.
Music Director John Fogg was born in New London, CT and came to Christ in 1976. He became interested in skateboarding and Christian music and from there went on to work in Christian radio. John has served as one of the few Christian radio DJs at WCNI at Connecticut College for over 20 years. John joined f2fmi in 2007 and produced the UK Artist Profile for our radio program, Real Life Radio. John has made great contributions to our development and media as a member of our team. He continues to serve f2fmi helping to produce our new radio program, Faith 2 Faith Radio. Lisa Marien
Network Administrator Lisa Marien hails from Wood River Junction, RI, where she spent her life until after college. Lisa graduated from the University of RI in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in music education, and earned her Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University in 1992. She teaches music at Wildwood Christian Academy and has also been involved in a variety of other arts programs in the area including: Norwich Arts Council, Summermusic Arts Camp, and Summerwerx ’93. She works closely with Rob Evans, “The Donut Man” organizing events for his ministry. Lisa is active in music in the local church in the praise band, Tower of Praise. She joins f2fmi to administrate our local youth leaders network as well as helping to coordinate events. Lisa and her husband Steve live in Norwich and have 3 amazing children: Persephone 14, Tai 12, and Jojo 8.
The Board of Directors Joe Paskewich has been in ministry for more than twenty years. In fact, he planted the very church that he currently pastors and over the years, it has easily grown to have a weekly attendance of more than 500 people. Joe grew up in New London, Connecticut and is still living there to this day. He is married to Debbie and they have 1 son, Stephan, who they adopted. Joe has ministered in five continents and has sat on boards for other ministries around the country. He went to Calvary Chapel Bible College and has been mentored by Chuck Smith (founder of the 1st Calvary Chapel) and John Wimber of the Vineyard Church. Joe loves music and can be seen jamming on his guitar during worship at his church. Check out his church's website: Revelation320.org.
Quentin Willey received his BS in Business from California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo in 1976 and his MBA in 2006 from Ohio State University. He is married to Machelle and they have one son and grandson. Quentin manages a fleet of trucks for a large chemical company and has a strong background in organization and leadership skills. He has been a Christian for over 40 years. Quentin is an avid golfer and also enjoys fantasy football with his college buddies. Quentin and his wife live in southern Ohio with their two dogs, Chanze and Starr. The Willeys have supported Tom dating all the way back to his College days, when they invited Tom to move in with them during his Senior year of Bible College. Quentin uses his skills to serve f2fmi as our Treasurer.
Ben Cheek spent most of his childhood in Glen Rock, PA -- a bedroom community for the Baltimore, MD Metro area. He was raised in a Christian home. He made his commitment to Christ at a young age. He was led to Ohio Valley University to study Bible so that he could return to the Northeast. At OVU Ben met his wife, Susan, and they participated in many ministry opportunities together both before and after they were married. Ben has a heart for teaching others how to find a deep personal faith amid a world of distractions and temptations. He is currently working to develop new initiatives in New Jersey and support existing works throughout the city. Ben built f2fmi's first website in 2001. Since then, he has worn many different hats to help our team grow and develop.
David White is our youngest Board member. Born in Hartford, CT on May 17, 1985, Dave gave his heart to Christ at a young age during Sunday school. Dave has a BA in History from Eastern Connecticut State University in May 2008. During his college years, Dave served as President of the Christian group on campus, 180 Christian Fellowship and is the founder of ECSU Pre-Law Society. Dave is also a NRA certified basic riflery instructor and a 46-R mountian climber. Dave enjoys worshipping Jesus and serving in various churches. He has conquered 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks, a feat only done by a few thousand others. He aspires to attend (Yale) law school in 2009. Dave is a teacher at Windham Christian Academy. His parents are longtime pastors in the community that Dave grew up in. He now serves on our Board as our Secretary.
Emmanuel Olawale was raised in a Christian home in Lagos, Nigeria; hence, he had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior from a tender age. However, he formally made a declaration of faith and salvation around 1991. Emmanuel relocated to Staten Island, New York in 1997. He attended the City University of New York from 1999 to 2002 earned an AA in Liberal Arts and a BS in English, Communication (Journalism & Media Studies). In 2002, he relocated to Columbus, Ohio and enrolled at Capital University Law School. Emmanuel graduated and earned a Juris Doctor degree from the law school in May, 2005. He is an ardent litigator, actively advocating for people who are downtrodden, giving voice to the voiceless and relentless in the quest to obtain justice and equity for his clients. Emmanuel is married to Jummy, who holds a BS in psychology from Christ Church University, Canterbury UK and is currently pursuing her Masters in Clinical Pastoral Counseling at the Methodist Theological School, Ohio. Emmanuel and Jummy are blessed with a son, Favor. |
