Easter Sunday was a very exciting time at Connecticut College for Calvary Chapel. There were around 1,000 people in attendance, the music was spectacular, Govenor Rowland’s testimony was fantastic! There were many different members of the press that attended the service. The Norwich Bulletin, The Day and News Channel 8 were there to name a few. We also flew in Ryan Griggs, one of F2fmi’s Missionaries, from England to perform live during the service.
When it was my turn to share the4points, I was actually nervous. I do not get nervous very often, but with all the controversy surrounding Rowland, I was afraid to make a mistake. God was faithful to use me and several people gave their hearts to Jesus. I was encouraged.
A quick story from the service:
After sharing the gospel, I went out to stand by our newly assembled F2fmi table. As the crowds poured out from the different exits, a young man who now teaches at my former high school came up to the table to talk to me. He shared about how he had gone his own way and done his own thing and that when I spoke about how we had all done wrong, he felt very convicted. He said sadly that he knew he should have raised his hand to respond, but for some reason, he didn’t. Then he asked me, “Is it too late to give my heart to Christ?”
I responded, “It’s never too late… you can give you heart to Christ right now!”
We prayed together in the lobby for him to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior! I gave him a copy of my book and encouraged him to interact with me. It was a fantastic day!
