This past Saturday was a fantastic testimony to the continued momentum growing in Eastern Connecticut towards unity in the body of Christ and to reach the lost. Our 2nd annual Regenerate event at the Willimantic Camp Meeting Association saw 198 gather to be encouraged in their faith made up of 154 teens and 44 volunteers. 18:14 and SiLOam were a great fit for the evening and students were enthusiastically worshiping the Lord during both bands sets.

The vision for this year set by the Executive Committee sought to mobilize students to share their faith and make a covenant before the Lord to live out the Great Commission this year at school. Michael Foster delivered a powerful message to this effect resulting in  34 decisions. Although this event wasn’t targeted for evangelism, it was exciting to witness 1 student make a commitment to follow Jesus for the very first time! The 33 other decisions were made up of recommitments and those making the covenant.

I was thankful to sit with a student named, “Sessie” who had already put the commission to work before the event and had brought 10 friends with her to Regenerate. I was so excited that I decided to gift her ticket to Overtime this fall. “While events fun and music has its place,” said Foster, “I believe the Holy Spirit is moving in this place. I believe that God does not only forgive you, through His Spirit, you can live a transformed life…”
